This project will explore the requirements for Content, Traffic and Quality Settlements across different networks, but within a “walled-garden”, which is the definition for an interconnect contract/settlement between multiple telecom service providers and the content provider.  The team will implement the solution in a real world environment, using the Universal Mobile Telecommunications Standard (UMTS) wireless and IP wire line networks. UMTS Access infrastructure will be used on site in Nice, connected to the management systems, IP network and content delivery platforms in Italy and Switzerland.

The project will address real time (or near real time) information requirements for the provisioning and management of content services. It will demonstrate NGOSS compliant implementations at two service provider sites, exchanging information through a standardized B2B interface.  The project will also use the results from two previous catalyst projects (the IPDR billing project demonstrated in Nice 2001 and the SLM for wireless IP project demonstrated in Las Vegas 2001) to address issues such Customer Care, Billing and Service Level Management.
