NGOSS in Practice: Using the Solution Frameworks
CalendarUpcoming Training Schedule

This two-day course provides delegates with hands-on experience using the Solution Frameworks.

Delegates will learn how to use the solution frameworks to gain insight and understanding of typical Service Provider challenges in planning, designing, developing, deploying and supporting a Product Offering. The course will explore the full Product lifecycle from: concept-to-market to order-to-cash and trouble-to-resolve. This will involve exploring all the NGOSS Domains: Market/Sales, Product, Customer, Service, Resource and Supplier/Partner.

Exercises provide attendees with the opportunity to delve into the solution frameworks and learn how they can be used to outline an understanding of the business challenge as well as to draft a possible solution that will meet the goals and objectives of the business challenge.

Delegates will leave the course with hands-on experience in a practical methodology for using the solution frameworks – eTOM Business Process, SID Business Information, TAM Business Applications and TIP APIs – to create NGOSS-styled SOA Process, Task-centric, Entity-centric and Application Service Contracts.

Level  Intermediate

Who should attend? Pre-requisites
Business and solution consultants; process, information, application and SOA service architects; business and process analysts; and solution designers who want to gain practical experience with a methodology for using the NGOSS Solution Frameworks as part of a Service-Oriented Architecture to drive business transformation in their enterprise. Familiarity with the Business Process (eTOM), Information (SID), Application (TAM) and Integration (TNA) Frameworks is necessary. Knowledge of UML2 and BPMN is a plus. The following online prep courses are to be completed in advance of attendance: ‘What is SOA?’ and ‘What is BPMN?

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Leave the course with the view that using the NGOSS Frameworks as part of a Service-Oriented Architecture is both realistic and practical;
  • Understand how to utilize NGOSS:
    • eTOM Business Process model to characterize the organizational business activity needs;
    • SID Business Entity model to characterize the organizational business information needs;
    • NGOSS TAM Business Application model to characterize the organizational application capability needs;
    • To create platform-neutral models (Business & System View Contracts) that support the auto-generation of executable artifacts (Implementation & Deployment View Contracts);
  • Learn about using the Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) to express SOA Process Service Contracts;
  • Have confidence in using the AMKB NGOSS-styled SOA methodology by having engaged in a hands-on experience creating SOA Service Contracts.
