Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) initiated a 5-year Solution Framework (NGOSS)
program in 2006 for BSS/OSS flexibility and agility. Another "CHT IT
Consolidation" program, which is also based on NGOSS frameworks, was
launched in 2008 for further OPEX reduction. Up to now, more than 70
business-driven BSS/OSS have been evolved into NGOSS. After 3-year
solid practice and realization, CHT BSS/OSS now can be quickly adapted
to market driven FMC and ICT new services like multimedia video phone
and telematics. In summary, CHT has gained very substantial benefits
through BSS/OSS NGOSS evolution including (1) Revenue acceleration from
streamlined fulfillment and assurance processes for important services
like FTTx and 3G/3.5G, (2) CAPEX and OPEX saving by consolidating
legacy BSS/OSS, (3) Fast delivery of new services to the market.
