New Generation Wireless-Wireline
One unmistakable trend in the telecommunications industry is the convergence of wireless and wireline networks.

This trend is a logical next step in telecoms networking, needed to meet expectations and requirements from end customers, from network operators and from service providers.

Customers are requesting seamless services without the need to be aware whether these services are supported by wireless, wireline, or some form of hybrid networks.

Customers are also expecting optimized quality of experience, again independent of the underlying network technology.

Network operators and service providers are looking for opportunities to lower the cost of operating their networks and services.

They need also to be able to assess and manage end-to-end performance, again irrespective of the technology implementing the components of end-to-end services.

NGMN – Vodafone / T-Mobile Operations Requirements
Vodafone
T-Mobile

The purpose of the NGMN – Vodafone / T-Mobile Operations Requirements is to give the industry a strong guidance regarding business needs from network operations point of view.

The document contains the ten most important operational requirements, in a first step agreed between T-Mobile and Vodafone driven by the need to improve efficiency of network operations in a multi-vendor, multi-technology environment.

The TM Forum New Generation Network initiative will address the management aspects and challenges of hybrid and converged wireless-wireline networks within a single operator and single operations environment.
