| Overview |
| The TMF Change Control Board (CCB) has been established with the mission of formalizing the process by which revisions are applied to the TMForum’s baselined deliverables, both documents and models. The CCB has established a Change Request process which provides a formal procedure by which any TMForum member may submit a request for modification to TMForum baselined deliverables. Each request is then subject to a formal review process which assesses its impact, relevancy and applicability on not only the target deliverable, but also on other related deliverables as well. To assure that the Change Request review process provides as accurate assessment as possible, the CCB is composed of subject matter experts covering all aspects of the NGOSS program and representing all stakeholders. The CCB members have been nominated by the CTO of the TMForum and approved by the TMForum Board of Directors.
The CCB currently covers the following NGOSS areas: Lifecycle, eTOM, SID, Service Framework Mgmt., TNA, Compliance, TAM, CIM/SID. In the future the CCB will expand to cover deliverables from the mTOP program, as well. | |

| Submit a Change Request |
|
A change request (CR) is a request to the CCB to modify one or more Base Artifacts (i.e. latest approved Artifact at a point in time). A request for change will only be accepted with the submission of a completed CR template emailed to CCB@tmforum.org
There are three types of requests that can be made to the CCB, namely:
- A formal submission of a problem to a base artifact(s), requesting it is corrected, for example obvious error in a document either in technical content or cosmetic error.
- A request to make changes to the baseline, submitted as a marked solution, for example a revision to an existing NGOSS Artifact expanding on or introducing some topic.
- Statement of a problem in the base artifact, with no marked solution. (note: these will be accepted if resource is available to address the issue, or indeed if requestor is willing to provide assistance)
In addition to submitting a request for a change, once a CR(s) have been implemented and are ready for general release a request is to be made to the CCB though the submission of a completed Base Artifact Request Template emailed to CCB@tmforum.org. This provides the following:
- Call on the CCB / or appropriate body to review the updates and ensure all is complete
- Update the Base Artifact with the correct revision
- Close the Change Request in the tracking database
- Initiate the process to have the new documents sent for Member Evaluation and web posting.
