    process workflows

I have read through the eTOM process documentation and come across some good process workflows for federated billing and pre-paid customers, however i still am unsure how this process workflows really work and how i would go about creating my own.

By creating my own process workflow, i mean i would use L3 processes based on the eTOM docs, but break that down further into L4 and maybe L5. Or if i can just figure out how the process flow works upto L3 for now for a service not mentioned in the eTOM docs e.g IP VPN service.

    Hi Khalil,

eTom provides you with a comprehensive conceptual business architecture that would satisfy a typical communications service provider.

To enable you to use that to map a specific instance of a service or product you need to first fit eTOM's on your organization and then only start the decomposition of processes to level 4,5,6 etc to accommodate your specific requirement.

From experience I want to caution that you cannot model a service or other isolated business process on its own and hope that it will somehow fit into eTOM. It is also very difficult if you do this exercise on your own and does not form part of an organization wide supported initiative.

I see you have posted this quite a while ago. Have you progressed since?

    Regards,
