Release 7.5 contains the content of TM Forum’s submission of the Shared Information and Data (SID) Model to ITU-T Study Group 4. It contains SID Business View Concepts, Principles, and Domains GB922, SID Product Business Entities GB922 Adendum, and SID Service Overview GB922 4SO.
The SID release notes, titled 'Getting Started with the SID' provides guidance on how to get started with the SID by describing the contents of the .zip files that make up this release of the SID and the order in which the SID documents should be read.
Quite a number of information and data models are available to the telecommunications industry today. Many of these models represent the information requirements of different areas of an organization, such as Networks, Products, Customers, and so forth. Needed by the industry are a common Information framework and a model that can be used as a framework for information model harmonisation across the industry. The SID satisfies both needs as is demonstrated in this release.
