Catalyst Project
AI for 5G billing data acceleration
Winner! Digital Transformation Asia 2019: Outstanding Catalyst – innovation
In the 4G era, large traffic and big video streaming is a common practice for operators to motivate users. For example, China Unicom’s Wangka package users have exceeded 100 million users. However, with the rapid growth of data traffic, massive bills, messages need to be processed in real-time. Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) is one of the key scenarios of 5G. With the official commercialization of 5G, operators will face the problem of fast and massive real-time data stream processing.
This Catalyst explores the artificial intelligence response to 5G billing data acceleration. The project analyzes the basic consumption characteristic data of different users by introducing technologies such as AI, machine learning and edge calculation and simultaneously performs user portraits through user-specific consumer behaviours, for different users in different usage scenarios. It also provides personalized adjustments to personalized traffic quotas. Based on this, in the face of 5G high-speed and massive data, the edge splitting, processing and compression functions of edge calculation are used to realize the effect of ensuring that the original data is not damaged and the amount of downstream data such as billing can be reduced.
