Catalyst Project
Hyperscale Architecture BSS for 5G future
5G is the reality around the corner, but the new business model for 5G requires the reengineering of existing BSS systems to cope with exponential growth in connectivity and on-demand scalability.
In this Catalyst project, China Unicom is collaborating with Asiainfo, Si-Tech, TYDIC and Qcubic to implement the CBSS2.0. This is based on China Unicom’s micro-service platform “SkyArk”, which adopts the internet distributed cloud architecture and decouples and reconstructs the core business as a platform and application architecture.

It supports national cross-domain business and provides service capability integration to fully exploit the advantages of a centralized business support system. This is a major achievement of digital transformation in the 5G business. It supports business development for 450 million existing subscribers as well as providing elasticity for on-demand scaling. This Catalyst project will demonstrate a high-concurrency system to support complex business scenarios.
