Security & Privacy Project
The Internet of Everything (IoE), underpinned by Digital Platforms and 5G will enable dramatic increases in business scale, speed, agility and efficiency. To achieve these aspirations as fast and sustainably as predicted will require the ability to establish trust (digital trust) among those doing business in the IoE.
The Security & Privacy collaboration projects are working to develop a Trust Roadmap of Challenges which will identify and prioritize the key challenges of establishing and sustaining trust: security, privacy (including regulatory compliance such as GDPR) and other expectations of doing business.
Given the broad interdependencies across programs, specific activity workstreams are focussing on the security and privacy aspects of Trust.
Ongoing Collaboration Work
Security Workstream
The Security Project workstream aims to provide a comprehensive strategy that supports the enablement of digital ecosystems by our members. It underpins trust and confidence – both from the customer and partner perspective – critical attributes as we move into IoE and ‘smart’ environments – cities, health, insurance etc…
Current areas of focus are:
- Trust Roadmap of Challenges
- Identifying security elements that underpin trust and how to ‘score’ them in generating an overall trust score for a ecosystem
- Security Policy Definition for platform security capability driven by NFV/ZOOM
- Security additions to ‘On boarding’ Open API
- Edge device security in the context of IoE Monetization
Privacy Workstream
The TM Forum Privacy Project provides a comprehensive strategy that supports trust – a key enabler for digital business.
The goal of the project is to drive awareness of privacy issues from the ethical to legal, develop and offer practical advice and solutions, and by continually evolving in line with the ecosystem, it should underpin all projects within TM Forum.
- Trust Roadmap of Challenges
- Identifying privacy elements that underpin trust and how to ‘score’ them in generating an overall trust score for a ecosystem
