Sumugam (Sumu) Balachandran, Vice President of National Network Operation, Boost Mobile

Sumu is a recognised leader in the mobile, telecommunications, and software industry. Prior to joining Boost Mobile, he was Head of Strategic Delivery and CTO for Network Services Americas at Tech Mahindra driving delivery, innovation, and growth and in an advisory role for M&A opportunities in emerging technologies. Sumu has held several leadership positions in the telecom industry. Prior to Tech Mahindra, at Mavenir, as the SVP of Global Customer Success, he built a successful Customer support organisation keeping pace with evolving mobile network transformation strategy globally and at GENBAND as leader of support for the Multimedia Business Unit he led operations for various countries, markets, and product verticals.

Sumu began his career with Aware, and later joined Cedar Point Communications, where he grew to hold leadership positions in support and operations.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Madras University and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, Massachusetts. He has published technical literature in the field of electrical/biomedical engineering. He is a proud father of 14-year-old twins, a loving husband, an avid reader, an amateur artist, a keen Cricket enthusiast, and a lifetime fan of Superstar Rajnikant.
