The OpenNMS Group maintains the OpenNMS open source network management project. This project is dedicated to creating the world's first enterprise-grade network management platform using the open source development model. OpenNMS is written in Java, and it uses OSS/J APIs to implement SOA-enabled NGOSS solutions for the management of network resources. As a community supported and developed project, OpenNMS has grown rapidly to compete with a number of established, commercial solutions while the software itself has remained 100% free and open. The OpenNMS Group generates revenue by providing expert consulting services, support, training and custom development for OpenNMS.
