Break down the barriers to intelligent automation
Ushering in a new era of growth and transformation
The six barriers identified on the right can be overcome if communications service providers (CSPs) embrace and implement the AI/AN framework which enables CSPs to unlock new revenue streams, improve their agility and operational efficiency while delivering exceptional customer experience. You can join forces with the organizations ushering in a new era of growth and transformation for the telecommunications industry by signing the AN manifesto.

ODA: Delivering the FIRST AI/AN framework
We recognize the need for a set of globally agreed standards to enable the industry to simplify working together and to implement the technological and operational complexity required for organizations to succeed.
As part of the larger ODA project, the objective is to expedite the widespread adoption of Autonomous Networks so that:
- CSPs adopt the Autonomous Networks Levels Evaluation Methodology to assess current and future levels of network automation.
- Technology partners build and market products and capabilities in a manner consistent with the Autonomous Networks Architecture, APIs and AN Levels.
That is why TM Forum has created the FIRST industry agreed end to end AI/AN framework for operators and partners.

Intelligent Automation alignment report
The world of Autonomous networks is changing year on year with global standards development organizations (SDOs) refining AN standards, researching key technologies and determining how to evaluate AN levels (ANL) to facilitate evolution towards the highest levels.
In September 2023, at DTW23 - Ignite we launched the AN Journey Guide created by 63 TM Forum members as an industry alignment report to guide the development of AN, demonstrate the latest AN use cases, strengthen industry consensus, accelerate standards, and facilitate network planning and deployment for CSPs and their innovation partners.
Develop the skills to overcome your barriers
Develop the skills to overcome your barriers
To overcome the barriers to automation you need two things. First, the assets of the AI/AN framework and second, the people with the right skills to implement them. This is especially true today as operators rapidly shift to automated networks and upskilling teams to understand and implement them is now critical to their success. This is why TM Forum has developed the following courses:
