Alvatross, CSG, Ericsson, Hansen Technologies, Huawei, Netcracker, Oracle, and Whale Cloud all offer key telco solutions that are recognized as ‘Ready for ODA’
DTW23 – Ignite, Copenhagen, Denmark – September 19th 2023 – TM Forum, the leading global alliance of telco and tech companies, announced today that eight of its vendor members have secured ‘Ready for ODA’ status for one or more of their product lines.
Alvatross, CSG, Ericsson, Hansen Technologies, Huawei, Netcracker, Oracle, and Whale Cloud have built products conformant with the Open Digital Architecture (ODA) key principles and standards to help their telco partners on their ODA journeys. These vendors are adopting TM Forum’s ODA components and Open APIs to redefine the software lifecycle for the telecoms industry.
ODA provides an architecture blueprint to help CSPs transform into agile digital organizations that can rapidly bring new products and services to market while improving customer experience. Vendors offering ‘Ready for ODA’ product lines are well equipped to support their CSP customers with solutions that comply with today’s ODA specifications and roadmap commitments linked to the architecture’s evolving standards.
“The telecoms industry has a pressing need to change the way software is procured, integrated, operated and upgraded. This requires a fresh approach to managing the software lifecycle if we are to reignite growth in the industry,” said Nik Willetts, CEO of TM Forum. “ODA provides the blueprint for this, and we’re excited to see so much industry commitment behind it—from our ‘Running on ODA’ CSPs, to our ‘Ready for ODA’ vendors. This level of commitment is a testament to ODA’s growing impact, which is redefining how we think about software as an industry. It’s also a great example of how our CSP and vendor members are working together to improve the experience for end customers across the world.”
While ‘Ready for ODA’ is not a formal product evaluation or endorsement, the criteria are assessed jointly by engaged vendors and TM Forum’s CTO office using a rigorous and evidence-based evaluation focused on six key aspects required to deliver successful business outcomes via ODA. These include principles & rules, skills, Open APIs, ODA Components, contribution to ODA and real-world implementation.
Industry vendor support for ODA is widespread, with 60 suppliers certifying TM Forum Open APIs to date and 126 adding their signatures to the ODA manifesto – acting as a public commitment to building and marketing products and capabilities that are consistent with the ODA. Over one hundred vendors contributed to TM Forum facilitated work over the past year on ODA standards.
TM Forum’s DTW23 – Ignite is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark 19th-21st September 2023. To find out more about TM Forum’s ODA initiative, visit the TMF Industry Showcase at DTW23 – Ignite, or visit: https://www.tmforum.org/oda/
