Service Providers including Telefónica and Verizon, and Technology Suppliers such as Ericsson, MDS, Celfocus and Apttus, embrace Frameworx Conformance Certification as an Essential Component of Digital Transformation
MORRISTOWN, NJ—December 16, 2015—TM Forum, the global industry association for digital business, today announced a roster of members whose products, solutions and implementations have been certified against its Frameworx Conformance Certification Program in 2015. This program provides an independent assessment and verification of how well products, solutions and implementations align to standards specified in TM Forum Frameworx™.
This year, TM Forum’s largest certification assessment involved Telefónica Group. To support Telefónica’s extensive business transformation enabled by IT programs to achieve end-to-end digitalization, TM Forum undertook an independent review of the service provider’s globally focused Business Process Blueprint Design. Telefónica’s Business Process Blueprint is key to ensuring customer oriented transformation and standardization across all of Telefonica’s operating business units. The assessment scope, which covered 11 customer facing end-to-end business processes supporting 75 unique Frameworx Business Processes, was certified as fully conformant to TM Forum’s Business Process Framework (eTOM).
“It has been a pleasure working with the TM Forum team,” said Marta Amo, head of business process standards office, Telefónica Group. “Telefónica Transformation is an ambitious goal and this TM Forum Conformance Certification verifies the successful transformation we’ve undergone at Telefónica to put customer and business processes at our core. It proves our consistency and dedication, and gives us the strength to continue transforming and adapting to a new digital environment.”
Jose Manuel Gascón, director of global IT strategy & transformation, Telefónica Group added, “The end to end business processes certified by TM Forum is a key milestone on Telefonica transformation, supporting standardization and common processes model among Operating Businesses. This will lead to an enhanced and seamless customer experience through all channels, automation, data centric management and flexibility for third parties integration to become a digital telco.”
The year 2015 also saw Verizon Enterprises returning for a second phase assessment of its large-scale transformation program, Verizon Rapid Delivery (VRD), which standardizes the company’s global business processes and systems. The Forum also certified several technology suppliers for various products and solutions, including MDS, Celfocus, Apttus, Comverse, CoralTree Systems, Intraway, Ericsson and IST.
To date, more than 90 products, solutions and implementations from more than 40 service providers and technology suppliers are certified as conformant with Frameworx through TM Forum’s Certification program. In addition, 82% of service providers mandate Frameworx conformance from their suppliers in many or all specifications, and 85% believe that Frameworx conformance has an important influence on their buying decisions.
“The digital landscape is more competitive than ever before – service providers and technology suppliers alike are fully dedicated to creating and delivering profitable services, and require industry best practices and standards to fulfill that dedication and distinguish themselves from competitors,” said Nik Willetts, deputy CEO, TM Forum. “We saw high demand for TM Forum’s Conformance program last year, and we are pleased to see the strong momentum carry through 2015. In the year ahead, we look forward to certifying even more members for their various products and solutions against an evolving digital industry standard that is a key component in providing a common language across digital ecosystems.”
