Amdocs, China Mobile Communications and Oracle chosen for their success in innovation, commitment to industry transformation, operational excellence and digital services dedication
Management World 2013, Nice, France – May 14, 2013: TM Forum announced today that Amdocs, China Mobile Communications Corp. and Oracle have been named as the winners of this year’s Excellence Awards at TM Forum’s flagship Management World 2013 conference and expo in Nice, France. Honored at the VIP Gala dinner on Monday, May 13 at the Palais de la Méditerranée, the three winners represent the leading and most innovative companies in the industry.
Now in their seventh year, the TM Forum Excellence Awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious and impartial awards of their kind, recognizing service providers and industry suppliers that demonstrate commitment to industry transformation through innovation underpinned by TM Forum’s Frameworx suite of standards. This year, TM Forum added a digital services-focused category to the Excellence Awards to reflect leadership and achievement in the evolving digital services ecosystem.
The 50 nominees and 23 finalists were judged by an impartial and independent panel comprised of leading industry experts and analysts, including judging panel chairman Steffen Roehn, former chief information officer of Deutsche Telekom; and judges: Montgomery “Monte” Hong, managing director–communications industry and lead, APAC Communications Industry, Accenture; Chris Lewis, group vice president, International Telecoms and Networking, IDC; Brendan O’Rourke, chief information officer, Telefónica Digital; Eckart Pech, managing director service technology and chief information officer, Telefónica Germany; Peter Sany, former chief information officer of Novartis, and former group chief information officer, Deutsche Telekom; Pascal Viginier, group chief information officer, France Telecom-Orange.
The winners of the New Digital Services, Industry Contribution, and Operational Excellence categories were decided by the judging panel, while the winner of the Solution Excellence Award was chosen by TM Forum’s 250 service provider members who collectively represent more than 85% of the global communications industry’s revenue.

TM Forum Industry Contribution Award – Awarded to the member company demonstrating leadership, dedication and contribution to the future of the industry
- Oracle: Oracle Leads the Development, the Adoption and the Promotion of Industry Standards
TM Forum Operational Excellence Award – Awarded to the service provider demonstrating the most innovative and effective use of Frameworx to deliver tangible cost reduction, efficiency improvement and operational agility.
- China Mobile Communications: Frameworx-Enabled Cloud Mobility Initiative Significantly Reduces Capital and Operating Expenditures
TM Forum Solution Excellence Award – Awarded to the supplier or system integrator demonstrating the most innovative and effective use of Frameworx to deliver tangible cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
