Winners Recognized for Innovation, Effective Application of Frameworx and Contributions to the Evolution of Frameworx
MORRISTOWN, NJ — December 22, 2014: Today TM Forum announces that three projects related to smart energy, smart cities and eHealth have been named the Digital Disruption 2014 Catalyst Award winners. These projects were spotlighted for their ground-breaking innovation, applications and contribution to TM Forum’s best practices and standards to solve the digital industry’s most pressing challenges.
TM Forum’s Catalyst projects are short-term collaborative initiatives led by the Forum’s member companies to create proof-of-concepts that solve important challenges for service providers in multiple industries, covering topics such as NFV and virtualization, digital health, smart energy and cities, customer centricity, big data analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and security and privacy. The Catalyst teams’ work ultimately contributes to the Forum’s Frameworx suite of best practices and standards, helping the Forum’s global membership reduce the risks, costs, and time-to-market of transforming their businesses for success in the digital world. More than 230 companies from across the globe participated in 14 agile projects to shape the latest version of Frameworx, version 14.5.
The TM Forum Live! Digital Disruption Catalyst Award winners are:
Most Innovative Catalyst
Awarded to the Catalyst team with the most innovative concept and demonstration.
Smart City: Empowering Governments to Build
The design and implementation of a smart city initiative is a huge effort with many collaborators from government, service providers and other private enterprises. This Catalyst is the first step of a program to apply Frameworx to reduce the complexity and risk of implementing a smart city. Specifically, it develops the Frameworx mapping and city profile definitions, and validates these with Águas de São Pedro, a city in Brazil currently undergoing a smart city transformation.

eHealth: Bridging the Divide
New digital services hold the promise of enabling healthcare providers to be more efficient, deliver better care to a wider population of patients and lower administrative time and costs. This Catalyst focuses on bridging and coordinating the healthcare and communications industries by demonstrating use cases and best practices for the application of TM Forum concepts in the field of digital health.
