Service Providers including Verizon and Telkom Indonesia and Technology Suppliers including Ericsson and Oracle Embrace Conformance as an Essential Component of Digital Transformation & Simplified Procurement
TM FORUM LIVE! DIGITAL DISRUPTION, SAN JOSE, CALIF. — Dec. 08, 2014: As demand for industry standardization continues to drive down time-to-market and transformation cost and risk, TM Forum is seeing growing demand for its Frameworx Conformance Certification program from both service providers and technology suppliers. This program provides an independent verification of how well products, solutions and implementations align to standards found in TM Forum Frameworx™. Service providers such as Verizon and Telkom Indonesia have been leading the conformance charge in recent months; a top service provider in the UK is also in the process of completing a four-part certification with TM Forum. In 2014, the Forum also certified several technology suppliers, including Aggaros, DGIT, Ericsson, Etiya, Nokia Networks and Oracle.
To date, more than 80 products, solutions and implementations from more than 30 service providers and suppliers have been certified as conformant with Frameworx through TM Forum’s program. Plus, 82% of certified service providers mandate Frameworx conformance from their suppliers in many or all specifications, and 85% believe that conformance has an important influence on their buying decisions. As such, the Forum expects that service providers and suppliers will continue to view conformance as an essential component of their transformation programs in 2015 and beyond.
“We are committed to enhancing the end-to-end experience for our enterprise clients, from ordering to service delivery, and recognize the importance of establishing best practices throughout our organization to achieve these goals,” said Dinesh Agarwal, executive director of Information Technology, for Verizon Enterprise Solutions . “TM Forum’s Conformance Certification helped us review our existing business process framework, and to ensure that we are consistently delivering high value and a superior experience for our enterprise clients.”
The Frameworx Conformance Certification program independently verifies and certifies how well an organization’s business processes and information models align with the industry standards outlined in Frameworx. With the findings of these detailed assessments, technology suppliers can better align their products and solutions with their service provider customers’ business needs in order to simplify and reduce the costs and risks associated with procurement and integration. Service providers are able to benchmark their services against other industry players and ensure that business processes allow for easy integration, both internally and with suppliers’ software solutions.
“With so much growth and acceleration across the digital marketplace, service providers are demanding standards adherence from their technology suppliers to reduce risk and cost and to ease procurement and implementations,” said Nik Willetts, chief digital officer, TM Forum. “Conformance certification is critical to accelerating digital transformation in key areas including Network Function Virtualization (NFV), the Internet of Things (IoT) and customer centricity by establishing requirements for various services, information models, processes and metrics. We’re eager to continue driving the industry forward and helping more organizations realize and benefit from the distinctive value of Frameworx in today’s digital world.”
Numerous Frameworx-conformant solutions, products and implementations are on display this week at Digital Disruption 2014, taking place December 8-11 at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.
