Five winners chosen for dedication, leadership, innovation, digital service delivery success and more
TM FORUM LIVE!, Nice, France – June 3, 2014: Today, TM Forum announced at its flagship TM Forum Live! conference and expo in Nice, France, that AT&T, Oracle, Orange, Tech Mahindra and ZTE are the winners of this year’s prestigious Excellence Awards. Honored at the VIP Gala dinner at the Palais de la Méditerranée, on Monday, June 2, the five winners represent the leading and most innovative companies in the communications and digital services industry.
In addition, the Forum highlighted the winners during the opening keynote session at TM Forum Live! on Tuesday morning, June 3. Now in its eighth year, TM Forum’s Excellence Awards honor communications and digital service providers and their suppliers that demonstrate commitment to the future of the industry through innovation, underpinned by TM Forum’s Frameworx suite of best practices and standards.
This year, the Forum launched a new award, the Digital Humanitarian Award, to honor the most innovative and impactful use of digital technology to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain and protect human dignity. In addition, the Forum presented a Special Award for Industry Leadership.
The 47 nominees and 29 finalists were judged by an impartial and independent panel comprised of leading industry experts and analysts, including chairman Steffen Roehn, CEO, Roehn Management Consulting GmbH and former group chief information officer, Deutsche Telekom; and judges: Phil Jordan, group chief information officer, Telefonica; David Pleasance, partner, Deloitte Consulting; Elisabeth Rainge, research vice president, CSP Operations, IDC; Peter Sany, chief technology information officer, Swiss Life; and Craig Young, senior vice president and chief information officer, Verizon.
The winners of the Digital Humanitarianism, Open Digital, Industry Contribution, Operational Excellence and Industry Leadership categories were decided by the judging panel, while the winner of the Solution Excellence Award was collaboratively chosen by TM Forum’s 250 service provider member community which collectively represent more than 85% of the global communications industry’s revenue.

TM Forum Digital Humanitarian Award

TM Forum Operational Excellence Award
Transform end to end delivery model to significantly improve quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. As such, we need to transform and provide a delivery model that enables structured requirements authoring, visualization and modeling upfront to provide greater clarity and definition to our clients. The model will also enable tighter linkage across all roles and responsibilities, provide productivity and quality gains, and facilitate deeper insights on a near real-time basis to positively affect decision making and defect resolution.
TM Forum Open Digital Award
iCityBOSS is an evolving smart city solution built upon the ZSmart uBOSS, which provides multiple connected big data and cloud-computing platforms to process real-time data and provide open data to stimulate innovative products and services to meet all kinds of needs. It provides insights and predictive abilities for the Government to make decisions for better public services. It brings the data from companies, Government and institutions together to give the public a source to develop and stimulate innovative smart city services. It offers a one-stop shop for citizens to access and enrich a variety of smart city services.

They enable new digital services, network virtualization, and monetization of combined IT and Telecommunications technology, and help deliver superior customer experience at a fraction of the cost of custom-built solutions.

In addition, a special award was given:
Special Award for Industry Leadership – Awarded to Orange for sustained leadership, dedication and support of the Forum over many years, acting as an advocate for change and significant contributor to the success of the Forum’s collaborative work, including Frameworx, and the Catalyst and Open Digital Ecosystem programs.
