Feasibility Study of Onboarding Automation Impacts on TM Forum Frameworx R17.0.1 (IG1159)

Based on IG1141 Procurement and Onboarding of Virtualization Packages R16.5.1, this document intends to extend and integrate the ongoing work in the TM Forum ZOOM OLM project team with the TM Forum Frameworx aspect.

It is addressing the critical business objectives of service providers virtualization (Cloud/SDN/NFV) transformation to achieve business and service agility in every aspect of the product and resource lifecycle.

TM Forum Frameworx has established taxonomy, concepts and principles that to a great extent can be reused in the OLM definition work, but also will need to be improved to handle new business objectives defined by the current business needs.

In addition, the Business Process Framework (eTOM) and supporting tools, such as the Application Framework (TAM), are heavily impacted by these new concepts and by the embedded agility required to achieve the objectives.

Far from being complete, this text collects a set of brainstorming and considerations coming from several joint meetings that also analyzed the document IG1151 DevOps best practices – where onboarding is a case study.
