GB1059 Autonomous Network Level Evaluation Tool (ANLET) v1.0.0

TM Forum’s latest autonomous network report shows that while about half of CSP respondents’ companies are only operating at Level 1 currently, nearly 60% expect to be operating at least L3 in three years, with a quarter expecting to be at L4. If this happens, that will be a dramatic leap forward.

Meanwhile, the report also found that how to evaluate autonomous network level (ANL) is one of the most important challenges in implementing autonomous networks. ANL evaluation is the first step for CSPs to systematically promote autonomous network planning and implementation. Although ANL standards have been defined in the industry, it is still time-consuming to determine evaluation scenarios and objects, break down cognitive activities, and perform evaluation based on the standards. Only a few leading CSPs have developed mature evaluation tools. Others expect the industry to provide out-of-the-box evaluation tools including level standards and evaluation methods to help them quickly identify weaknesses in autonomous network capability and accelerate iterative autonomous network deployment.

The purpose of this document is to define a method for quickly generating ANL evaluation questionnaires using ANL standards.
