The Patterns domain of the Information Framework (SID) represents business roles, information and activities (e.g., business entities, business processes, functions, logical applications, interfaces, metrics, etc.) that support other Frameworks domains and are not specific to (i.e., are generic) or “owned by” any particular domain. This domain contains abstract Aggregate Business Entities (ABEs) and business entities that are not directly usable. These patterns need to be sub-classed to be used.
