Created By: Managing and Measuring Autonomy
One of the values that CSPs offer to their customers is to provide stable and reliable networks and services. Traditionally, operations are focused on activities that can help to improve operational metrics such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTBF (Mean Time between Failures). As the complexity of services and networks increases, it is difficult to achieve network and services reliable under acceptable cost (OPEX) by just focusing on how efficient the operation is.
This Expected Demand Not Served (EDNS) sub-project is commissioned to establish a new series of metrics reflecting operation quality rather than operation efficiency. Through this work, this series of metrics from 3 general perspectives will be defined, and furthermore, several specific defined EDNS metrics underscored by certain KPI/KQI will be provided as reference. Besides, the measuring method of EDNS will also be illustrated in detail.
