This document captures the essential set of key definitions of terms that are generally used in the area of business ecosystems and ecosystem modelling. These terms act as a guide to help ensure consistency in understanding. They are leveraged by the Digital Ecosystem Management team at TM Forum and also can be more broadly applied. The source of the terms has been listed where possible. There is no assumption that these terms have been created uniquely by TM Forum. The purpose of this work is to provide a single source of key terms from both inside TM Forum and more broadly from wider industry and academia. We start by defining and gaining a common understanding of the term, Business Ecosystem.
