With the introduction of Internet of Things and new Digital Services, the traditional Enterprises are adopting new roles within the Open Digital Ecosystem, either as developer, provider or consumer of Digital Services, and their existing Business Operating Model needs to transform in alignment with their new role.
A Business Operating Model is the combination of roles, skills, structures, processes, assets and technologies that allows any organization to deliver on its service or product promises. Transformation of Business Operating Model is not trivial and poses multiple challenges to the Enterprise in terms of what and how to transform. This document explores these issues using some industry tools including the McKenzie 7S model.
