The 5G standard imposes new challenges for communication service providers (CSP). These challenges are caused by the dramatic increase in the amount of data to store and process. Today, CSPs have vast amounts of data collected from numerous data sources. The complexity, variety and volume of the data makes standard analytic approaches insufficient. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a set of tools intended to help humans in making data-driven decisions.
The Data Analytics Toolkit prepared by TM Forum provides a reference architecture of Big Data Analytics. This whitepaper assumes that a CSP already has some implementation of Big Data Analytics platform and proposes ways to implement AI-driven solutions upon this platform. The whitepaper highlights the problem of the make-or-buy decision with respect to AI solutions. It also provides practical guidelines on technology choice and R&D team organization.
