Plan Product Capacity business activity determine the design and organization of the production capacity management activities needed to meet changing demands for products over a period of time, as well as implement the plan for product capacity needs.<br/>A Product's capacity plan ensures Product Management: <br/><ul>
<li>aligns capacity planning strategies with both commercial and operational goals,</li></ul> <ul> <li>ensures that there are sufficient product capacity to support planned and forecasted commercial objectives,</li><li>identifies gaps in capacity allocation early,</li><li>determines product capacity needs according to demand,</li><li>determines constraints and usage patterns over time,</li><li>forecasts future capacity needs,</li><li>and communicates products capacity requirements in time.</li></ul> In the context of capacity planning, consideration is given to all input requirements, conversion processes and outputs when planning product capacity.<br/>
