Resource Trouble Resolution Aggregate Function is responsible for repair or replacement of faulty resources or using redundant equipment to replace the faulty resource after a trouble has been detected, in order to bring back the installed resource to a normal operational state as efficiently as possible.
This may involve automated or manual restoration activities. It may also involve reconfiguration, and/or dispatches of field technicians.
These resolution actions can be temporary or palliative, to quickly stop the trouble, and followed by other actions which will definitely treat the trouble cause (ex: when a telegraph pole falls it can be first strengthened then replaced). So different resolution actions can be planned and executed, associated to the same Trouble.
When we try palliative action and notice that it doesn’t solve the trouble, it’s not always necessary or interesting to undo it (ex: change of copper pair).
These actions can be treated through resource order(s) (ex: reconfiguration of an equipment, installation of a new equipment) or project management (ex: scheduled work) when several tasks have to be planned and coordinated.
Remark: If the resolution action is a Resource Order, this will be created via the Resource Order Initialization function.
