Network Planning and Building AF groups functions responsible for ensuring network capacity is available to meet the needs of Customer service requests and ensuring network restorability. Network capacity includes the access network and the various OSI Layer 1-4+ core backbone networks. Network Planning and Building functions manage network capacity with the goals of (1) maximizing return from capital expenditures, (2) ensuring inventory and financial accuracy, (3) providing capacity to meet customer demands, (4) future-proofing evolving technology options, (5) best leveraging of supply-chain management, (6) setting up the OSS data to permit flow-through automation once network elements have been made available in OSS inventory.<br/>
