The existing process for purchasing network services from Communications Service Providers (CSPs, also “Telcos”) today is not aligned with customer expectations for a digital-first, on-demand experience. CSPs need to decompose their network assets and make network services available as API-enabled products. This will open up new lines of business for CSPs, Hyperscalers and App producers, by improving the experience of purchasing network services, driving innovation in the industry, and increasing the total addressable market for these services through the introduction of value-added products. The Catalyst project will engage ecosystem participants and CSPs to help identify the most desired network APIs, data and insights; abstract them and identify their limitations; and then standardize them across the industry by anchoring to the Open Digital Architecture framework and creating documentation to support alignment to standard process APIs which specifically inquire about consumer network experience of particular applications. The project will focus on data & insights in the area of location-based application performance. The project has three main objectives: 1. Identify data & insights with value 2. Build an API which allows the exposure of multiple of those datasets and insights 3. Create documentation to ensure alignment and reuse of API
