Proactively preventing degradation of fixed and mobile services
Project companies
CSPs today manage and operate increasingly complex networks incorporating new open architectures, virtualization, automation, 5G and network-as-a-service propositions. Against this backdrop however such CSPs face several challenges in their need to ensure high-quality experiences, while also improving network efficiency.
This Catalyst aims to enable CSPs to anticipate customer pain points and proactively implement solutions autonomously before any degradation in fixed and mobile services occurs. By employing a predictive customer experience index (CEI), the Catalyst is developing a zero-touch customer-centric 5G network environment in multiple phases.
Previous phases of the Catalyst addressed key challenges related to predictions, root cause analysis, digital twins and capabilities exposure, among others. By addressing these challenges, this Catalyst aims to help CSPs deliver value-added services to enterprises and consumers with higher levels of quality and efficiency. In the fourth phase of this multi-stage project, the CEI calculation will include consideration of the Wi-Fi link in the customer’s premises, which is a key aspect of fixed networks, regardless of whether they use wireline, wireless or satellite links.
At the same time, the Catalyst intends to supplement the existing data fabric, digital twin and AI layers with a decision intelligence layer, so the autonomous closed loop features are structured and enhanced, according to the TM Forum’s new DT4DI model. The project team will also expand the solution to support new use cases, including anomaly detection, root cause analysis and intent-based services, as well as improving sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint.
The Catalyst’s solution is designed to be fully compliant with TM Forum and 3GPP standards, enabling it to be quickly integrated into CSP networks, using their data streams, to obtain immediate commercial results.
