Intro
This Catalyst project will leverage Open Gateway APIs (via Camara) and TMF APIs to create a new protocol for the spatial web, which will support diverse spatial experiences.
By using this protocol, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) will be able to control Spatial Web Nodes, which are key points in Spatial Computing and Positioning Based experiences, offer them as a service that they manage.
This innovative service model will unlock new revenue opportunities for CSPs while aligning with Aplication Service Providers (ASPs) and Digital Service Providers (DSPs).
Spatial Web Functionalities and challenges
Spatial Web future initial functions to be developed as a new revenue stream being supported by the CSPs on the next few years includes:
- Geofence: Enabling the creation of virtual perimeters for real-world geographic areas, useful for location-based services.
- IoT Interactions: Facilitating communication and data exchange between IoT devices within a spatial context.
- Seamless Digital Identity: Providing secure and seamless identity verification and management across spatial experiences.
- Governmental: Supporting governmental services and applications, such as public safety and infrastructure management, within spatial domains.
- Remote Rendering: Allowing complex visual rendering processes to occur remotely, enhancing spatial experiences with high-quality graphics.
- AI Agents Pool: Utilizing a pool of AI agents to enhance spatial applications with intelligent and context-aware functionalities.
- Carbon Footprint: Monitoring and managing carbon emissions within spatial environments to support sustainability goals.
- AR Anchors / Spatial Computing Anchors: Providing fixed reference points in augmented reality and spatial computing environments to enhance stability and accuracy.
- Web2 Anchors - Legacy services through DSSP: Supporting legacy web services and applications within the spatial web framework.
The solution
By using Open APIs, Spatial Web Nodes will facilitate stable, context-rich, location-specific experiences for DSPs and ASPs, enabling them to easily integrate spatial elements into their offerings. By standardizing spatial interactions and anchor management, this protocol brings CSPs a new opportunity to monetize spatial nodes and expand their market reach.
Monetization Opportunities
The integration of Open Gateway APIs with TM Forum Operative APIs offers CSPs a lucrative pathway to monetize their services. By controlling Spatial Web Nodes, CSPs can offer a suite of spatial web functionalities that cater to burgeoning demand from Aplication Service Providers (ASPs) and Digital Service Providers (DSPs). This kind of servicesl not only enhances service offerings but also unlocks new revenue streams.
This strategic move positions CSPs as central players in the spatial web ecosystem, enhancing their market reach and competitive edge.
