Shamik Basu drives the global growth strategy for Verizon’s Strategic Connectivity and IoT portfolio, a comprehensive suite of services that includes worldwide connectivity, business internet, IoT, and automotive platforms. He leads the charge in scaling Verizon's platforms, which currently connect millions of IoT endpoints, and is pioneering the integration of next-generation smart objects with 5G technology. In his role, Shamik collaborates with a diverse range of customers across the private and public sectors, as well as incubators and the developer community, to deliver innovative solutions.

With deep expertise spanning both enterprise and consumer markets, Shamik previously served as the Executive Director of IoT & Automotive, where he oversaw the expansion and innovation of Verizon's solutions. Before that, he managed a broad portfolio of consumer products serving millions of wireless customers. Shamik is a key innovator in the industry, holding multiple patents in areas like wireless WAN activation, contact synchronization, and media management. He is an active member of CTA's Wearable Technologies and GSMA's IoT strategy working groups, helping to shape the future of the industry. He holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science and Finance from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
