Operations Frameworks
Overview
ODA is designed to enable automation of operational processes, and TM Forum's work on Operations Frameworks provides blueprints to support such automation.
Use of AI (AIOps) is increasingly important as operational processes become more complex with the deployment of 5G, multi-access edge computing and other advanced technologies. The large number of tuneable parameters makes real-time optimization of network performance and customer experience impossible to achieve with simple business rules, so AI is set to play an essential role in automating operations .
TM Forum's AIOps project has is developing Operations Frameworks to address the challenge of redesigning and re-engineering operations management processes to support and govern massive deployment of AI. The Frameworks help to identify the gaps between traditional operations and AIOps, allowing Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to re-engineer their processes accordingly to safely and securely implement and manage AI.
Our white paper, AIOps: A practical framework for AI-driven operations in the telecom industry, is available to both TM Forum members and non-members, along with a playbook for enabling AI operations using the TM Forum Framework across production and deployment.
