Octavio is a senior analyst serving business and technology leaders. His research focuses on networking technology and strategy; emerging technologies, such as 5G, 6G, IoT, and edge computing; private and public telecom network trends; assurance frameworks, covering network, service, and application layers; network-aware software development lifecycle strategies; and the impact of networking on digital customer experiences.

Octavio's career spans over 20 years in sales, consulting, and technology leadership roles. Octavio worked for 16 years at Nokia, consulting wireless networking professionals around the world, designing and implementing features, products, and solutions to bring 2G/3G/4G into the market, and evaluating the correlation between application and network performance. Building upon his wireless network industry knowledge, he subsequently developed an expertise in 5G core, IP/MPLS networking, security, data center infrastructure, wireless WLAN and enterprise LAN, metro optical, contact centers, and collaboration solutions while working at Cisco Systems. Most recently, he ventured into 5G network test automation with F2G Solutions and into software development lifecycle with Cigniti Technologies, helping business and technology leaders understand the impact of 5G and edge computing on customer experience for use cases revolving around augmented reality, VR, 3D imaging, 360-degree video, 8K video resolution, and fully distributed AI.

Octavio graduated with honors from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics and communications engineering. Additionally, he successfully defended his thesis on traffic models for enterprise networks and graduated from Chalmers Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2000 with a master’s degree in digital communications systems and technologies.
