![]() Figure CI.07 - MTOSI TMD Profile Mechanism - ConfigurationSpecification Applied Using Resource Entity : Object diagram
In the instance of ResourceConfiguration, C is now assigned the value of 2. Also, the instance is now assigned two new attributes (D and E) and associated values. Attribute B (not shown) remains as a simple characteristic related to the instance of Resource as shown in Figure CI.03 - MTOSI TMD Profile Mechanism - Configuration with No Specification Using Resource. But other characteristics (A, C, D, E) are removed and replaced by the ResourceConfigSpec shown in Figure CI.05 - MTOSI TMD Profile Mechanism - ConfigurationSpecificationification Using Resource Entity. A specific operation, such as auto apply / apply all, could be defined to do this.
New attributes in the configuration entities, such as ResourceConfiguration cannot be created. This would require an “add column” command made to the database, which can have a major impact to the associated application(s) that use this entity. Figure CI.07 - MTOSI TMD Profile Mechanism - ConfigurationSpecificationification Applied Using Resource Entity shows an example of using a combination of characteristic instances and a Resource instance applied to create an instance of ResourceConfiguration.
