A and C are explicit attributes of the Resource not shown in the figure.   D and E are not explicit attributes of the Resource instance and therefore are represented as instances of characteristics associated to the instance of ResourceConfiguration.</font><br/><font color="#29313b">Note that the simpler alternative from an instance perspective would be to use the ConfigSpecCharUse entity shown in Figure CP.03 - Configuration Spec and Configuration Characteristics.  This figure shows how characteristics can be used to set values for them, but also for explicitly modeled attributes.  However, it does require an application to perform matching of the characteristic’s name value with an explicit attribute of an entity as mentioned in the description of the figure.  So, the choice of which model capabilities to use is up to the discretion of the SID implementer.</font><br/>
