Figure PF.12 - Performance Characteristic

The concept of a characteristic was introduced with performance categories.  Characteristics can be associated with any entity specification and corresponding entity in the Performance model.  Following Figure shows how characteristics can be applied to the PerformanceSpecification and Performance entities.  In this case a CharacteristicSpecification, such as sent packets, can be associated with an instance of PerformanceSpecification.  The associated Performance entity may have a value, such as 75K, associated to the sent packets CharacteristicSpecification.<br/>One important note is that CharacteristicSpecifications can be shared among one or more instances of PerformanceSpecifications.  For example, sent packets, could be associated with an instance of a PerformanceSpecification for a GGSN to SGSN and an instance of a PerformanceSpecification for a BSC to a Cell Site.<br/>
